Posted June 23, 200817 yr Hi, continuing on from my post in the Help! topic, i have some photos of bings poos... as you can see they are a caramel brown and in the first picture is very wet, does anyone think this is odd? thanks
June 23, 200817 yr Not overly odd, I find when a bird has more greens/fresh food or more water their poos go like this. It's still in the "okay" range because there is a solid in it, the water around the solid doesn't phase me much unless it's really noticable. Colours of their poos usually fluctuate, but in my books that's still okay You're a very watchful owner !
June 23, 200817 yr You could try adding fresh daily a little diluted raspberry cordial or apple cider vinegar to his water for a week to see if it normalises him.
June 23, 200817 yr I agree with Dr Nat, Raspberry cordial is magic stuff. It's completely harmless for birds, but if there is any gastro bugs in the gut, it will clear it out The cordial is not the kids stuff. it needs to be the premium type that has at least 20% pure raspberry in it. I use the Cascade brand. Dose = 5ml of cordial to 250ml water - it can be stronger, up to 1:10 cordial to water. - any you don't use on bing, you can drink yourself as it is so YUMMY
June 24, 200817 yr I don't see anything out ODD either fresh greens, gum leaves and grasses change the color of the poo if they soild parts are more runny i would worry, but you can try the raspberry juice added to the water or used cool boiled water for the drinking water I've heard that weaken black tea or chamomile tea helps too
