Went To An Auction

Featured Replies

Well, I didnt really get carried away, cause I had put money away for this auction for a while and I was planning on splurging. My two big splurges, Adonis and Aphrodite, even though they cost me more than Ive ever paid for a budgie, I am really over the moon with them. Some of the others were just a really good price I thought.

So here they are :) (I hope you dont mind that I put up more than one picture of them, cause I tried to get pics that did them justice)

Adonis - DF Spangle cock

Aphrodite - Cinnamonwing grey spangle hen

Darius - Dom pied grey spangle cock

Chloe - Lutino hen

Xenia - light green opaline hen (I know her cere looks blue for some reason in this picture, but she IS a hen)

and finally little Yoshi - skyblue clearwing cock.

:) Very nice budgies you got yourself!

The bit extra you pay, is worth it for better birds.

Welcome to the "Let's get carried away world of Budgie Auctions" !

Great fun isn't!! :(

Haha.....its fun but the adrenaline leaves you shaking when its all over, I felt like I needed a stiff drink afterwards. I paid more for Adonis than I hoped, but my partner was also with me and supporting me and I paid less for Aphrodite than I was expecting, so it balanced out :D

I am thinking of putting those 2 down together..........

Thanks Liv, she is stunning, more so in real life too. One day, you will have to plan a day down south and make the trek and come visit :D

Very nice birds :(

But confused by this one DFSpanglecock1.jpg

a DF spangle doesnt have that much colour on it ....should be all white if DF spangle. :)

I will have to pack up the family one day soon, and make a day trip of visiting your neck of the woods - see some sights and some nice birds too :)

I have to say, I thought the same when I saw his description on the auction notes. I bought 2 birds from the same breeder, in fact him and Aphrodite are from the same guy and he said he would be culling birds and advertising them in the next month or so and would let us know before he advertises. So I am going to query him on his breeding then. Either way, he's pretty and has a lovely head :)

Great looking birds Sunnie. You did well, and it is nice to splurge once in a while :)

Maybe still DF ,but a dominant pied?

Sometimes the old guys get a bit muddlied up.

Whatever still a nice bird!

LOL believe it or not, he's quite a young guy! Maybe they forgot to put the dom pied bit in the description *shrug*. Now I'm all curious to know what he is! LOL

they are beautiful, I think the first one looks like a skyblue clearwing (whitewing) I agree with Kaz about not being a double factor spangle, maybe a single

They look like my favorite budgie! A Spangle Dominate pied!

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR :fear

Sunnie's would be a cracken clearwing if it was!

But they look more like the last shot,

Yeah Sunnie's has the clear area on the belly just like my bloke. Atleast he is dom pied and NOT one of those sneaky recessive critters

Them sure is some lovely pudgy budgies.

I will take any off your hands that you may not love. Okays ?

You got some nice birds there Sunnie. Re your DF Spangle & MB's one I'm still wondering that's why I still haven't made a comment on either.

A test mating with a nice Normal may help clear it up.

WOW .. very stunning .....

Does the DF has blue feet????

I don't unfortunately have a nice normal to put him with Norm, but after a discussion in another thread I am planning a boofy opaline for him

Neat mine has blue feet, what does yours have Sunnie?

Yes mine has grey/blue feet too.

I'd say it's just a normal DF with bad suffision as there isn't any banding/pattern to the suffision, unlike MB's

I just see heavy suffision which fades to nothing lower down.

I think that Adonis and Ozzie need to come live with me! :budgiedance:

Really nice birds good buy hope I can pick up something as nice at the sale that I go to this weekend.

Gorgeous looking birds, great buy :budgiedance:
