Posted June 9, 200817 yr Hey all it's been a while since i posted something that wasn't off topic ... I've been reading ....alot .... I have taken notes down and wanted some opinions as this is a very old book ( priced in shillings) Dutch Pied and Danish Pied - are they the same as a Recessive and Dominant and Harlequin???? It also says a bird split to white ??? example is Green/white ... How can that be?????? or is that Green/to blue??? as breeding outcomes for a green/white green/white are 9 varities .. Greens, green/yellow, Blues, Green/blue, Green/white, Blue/white, yellow, whiteblue ans yellow/white Ummmmmm This book is sooo confusing??? Edited June 9, 200817 yr by KAZ spelling etc
June 9, 200817 yr You are right on your thought on the green split to white thing. Some people refer to the base(white or yellow) colour some refer to the blue or green series. I am pretty sure that dutch and danish is just whether they are dominant or recessive as I have only just managed to wrap my head around that one as I have dutch(dominant) pieds ;)Unless by white they mean abino?
June 9, 200817 yr Dutch and Dom are different. Recessive/danish/harlequin same thing What book are you reading? Is it just on budgies or does it have other species as well?
June 9, 200817 yr Author Budgerigars: And how to breed them By Cyril H Rogers http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=12646 This is Dazza link for dutch, I am gonna read this too heheh Ahhhh so a dutch pied is a has clearflights ... Wouldn't that then make it a Dominant pied clearflight????? mutations Changed dominate to dominant...spelling Edited June 9, 200817 yr by KAZ
June 9, 200817 yr Author Thanks for the spell check Kaz. xxxxx I have no idea, mine too .... Just when I thought that I had gotten to know the different mutations .. BAM there come another ........grrrr
June 9, 200817 yr I guess the thing is that most mutations we name as their parts ie. opaline clearflight, etc. Dutch is just a name for a bird of a specific combination of characters
June 9, 200817 yr Author Ahhh then i can invent more names so i am not confused with the mixed mutation anymore lol
June 10, 200817 yr Dutch is another term for the clearflight pied. Dominant is used widely but mostly refers to Austrailian domiant pied
