Do Budgies Eat More In The Cooler Weather?

Featured Replies

Does anybody else find that their budgies eat more in the colder weather?

Mine seem to be going through twice as much seed since the weather has become colder.

i think it is because they are more active in the cooler weather and they need energy to keep warm so yes i recken they do

They eat lots more, purely to keep their little bodies warm!! I double my food bill each winter

Don't say that Liv  we've just started a new plan to minimise food costs LOL

Now alot of their diet consists of mums stolen veggies :D (then seed) hahaha :P

Doing well so far :D

Interesting topic.

Maybe they even change the type of seed they choose. Mine at the moment aren't eating the canary or jap or millet they are more into the hulled oats. Fatten up for the cold. Not a bad idea!

Where's the chocolate biscuits??
