Posted June 5, 200816 yr Hello everyone, i am not new to the forum as i have already asked a few questions about my budgies before and got some really helpful answers! But I think it is only polite to introduce myself to such friendly and helpful community:) It is a great forum and thank you, you give lots of useful advice, support and seem to know sometimes more than our beloved vets! THANK YOU all so very MUCH! And these are my babies, who are also very very thankful as they life has enriched since i have started reading your forum. They have got a big eucalyptus branch to climb and nibble, new toys and actually each other! Boris and Betty. I spent this morning chasing my bunny around the front yard because he decided he was bored of the backyard and made a break for it :budgiedance: I'm making (beef) stew tonight for dinner and he recieved a warning that if he didn't start behaving it would be rabbit stew

I love bunnies I have heard that lionhead is quite a new breed, not very well developed yet. he seems to be a dwarf too. and he loves digestive biscuits! (graham crackers?). i give them in very tiny portions. i was playing with him today and once i got a bit of it in my hand he didn't care about playing anymore just kept sniffing where the smell was coming from, once found, stuffed his head in my fist to steal it from me - he got it in the end He is looking at me now with ears up as if asking what are you typing there about me he says hi ))

June 6, 200816 yr He is a New Zealand Giant X, basically a big white boofer. His name is Mr Frank Bunny and his best friend is my kelpie. I'll load some photos up and post one for you :budgiedance: We probably don't have them here then, you can't import bunnies into Australia anymore so any breeds developed overseas have to be developed seperately over here.

( it is such a joke of nature that bunnies are like the most cuddly animals but they dont like to be cuddled!) Thank you - looking forward to a picture of MR Frank! He must be a serious gentleman with such a name! )))
June 6, 200816 yr Hi is only a gentleman when he wants to be :budgiedance: Frank is a rescue bunny, my partner found him filthy on the side of the road in Frankston (a suburb of Melbourne). My three year old wanted to call him Mr Bunny and I insisted he needed a first name so he got Frank from where he was found

June 6, 200816 yr He's not super huge, we think he was crossed with a smaller breed, I haven't weighed him but he'd be 6-7kg I would guess, he is much bigger than the cat and she is about 5kg. Here he is, he free-ranges during the day and Sascha takes good care of him :budgiedance:

June 6, 200816 yr Author Mine is tiny, i think he is probably about 2 kilos :budgiedance:. I have heard that male bunnies are best kept on their own, so probably their duet with the doggy is the best one:), however i am sure you can keep loads and they all will be happy together, especially if they have enough space to run about

Birdluv your baby is lovely, I would say cashmere rather than angora, note the lack of fluff on the tips of the ears
June 6, 200816 yr Author Speaking of amorous, do your bunnies run around your legs when you get up? It is so funny to see him running from the opposite corner of the room as soon as he sees i am standing. Our floors are laminated so quite slippery, it is quite funny to hear his feet shuffling like in a cartoon on one spot before he can take off in a hurry :budgiedance:
June 6, 200816 yr My boy is an outside bunny mostly and he is more the 'doin' his own thing' kind of bunny, BUT he loves the dog, they chase each other around the yard and Frank does that thing where they leap in the air and kind of flick their legs up and the dog trots after him and then he turns around and chases the dog, it's quite funny to watch If the dog lies down Frank will go and sit next to her and just look at the view together, very sweet :budgiedance:

Birdluv your baby is lovely, I would say cashmere rather than angora, note the lack of fluff on the tips of the ears Thanks, l always wondered about that, l thought angora but she really never fitted that category. her being cashmere would explain why her fur is so soft to the touch. l love letting her sit on my lap while l pet her, l could do that for hours she is so gentle and patient with my 3 year old niece who will be 4 next saturday. my niece will pick dandelions for my bunny and then she feeds her. it is just so darn cute to watch. l should try to take a picture or video of her doing that.
