I just looked in the fridge for some veggies for the birds just wondering if these are okay to feed them here is what I have that i havnt fed the birds before.

spinach cuccumber cauliflower

I normaly make up greated carrot lettice hard boild egg with the shell mashed up sprinkled with baby rearing mix they seem to really love it. I also give some apple and orange is there anything else that you could suggest.

cheers

Since your boy is raising babies at the moment I would avoid the spinach as it can mess with calcium absorption, as far as I am aware the other two are fine. When I run low on fresh vegies I use frozen vegies(peas, corn, carrots, etc)

okay thanks I will leave the spinach out for the time been.

Im running low on vegies atm.

I would have to disagree with the leaving of the spinach out , Calcium is absorbed into the body by the aid of vitiamin d3 which is sunlight so if you supply the birds with calcium in some form , then they will be fine. Spinach contains vit a,b1,b2,b3 and c , where caggage contains these and b6 , folic acid more vit c then spinach and vit e , The lettuce will give budgies the runs it goes straight through them and possibly causes a wet nest , I would stick to what you are using and drop the lettuce , try some corn on the cob.
