Posted June 1, 200816 yr I have this little aviary which is empty and doing nothing and i am considdering converting it into 2 breeding cabinets.... I am after some advice on if it would work and the best way to do it Here is the aviary It is 90cm deep, 100cm high and 120cm long. Here are 2 floor plans I drew up (nb = nestbox) In this first plan the safty area would be 45 cm wide by 60cm long - good thing I am little because it's just big enough for me to squeeze into hehe Breeding cage 1 would be 45cm wide and 90cm long by 100cm high Breeding cage 2 would be L shaped with 30cm at the narrow end and 60cm at the wide end. 90cm long and 100cm high. In this plan the safty area is a more comfortable 90cm long by 60cm wide - i will be able to sit, rather than squat haha but this is not about my comfort here Breeding cage 1 and 2 will both be 45cm wide, by 60cm long and 100cm high I am open to any surgestions/changes/critisisiums etc hehe Thanks
June 1, 200816 yr The second one might be the best Liv, it would be a lot easier to divide I would think.
June 1, 200816 yr Looks good Liv... my only idea would be to have them on top of each other... So the last sketch, so each one would be 90cm wide, 50 cm high and 60cm long. I don't think the hight being reduced from 100-50cm would be an issue, and having that extra width, would allow more movement. If they were like this too, both cages would have access to the wire side (sunlight/fresh air). Up to you though luv. Can't wait to see what it looks like done and filled
June 1, 200816 yr I think No2 is the best idea, suggestion though change the nest boxes so the aren't next to each other??? But Great blue prints I should get you to do mine lol
April 3, 200916 yr Author No, it was better to just buy wire cages than try to tamper with this one. I use this one as a nappy cage as its a great size for the chicks
