May 30, 200816 yr He is a yellow face spangle (the fish scale type markings on the wings) and Im guessing mum had the same wing pattern and was green(she would have been carrying blue)? It looks like you have got a couple of double factors spangles in there(the ones that are white and yellow with black eyes and no other markings or colour). I'm very jealous as despite my best efforts I haven't managed to get a double factor spangle yet.
May 30, 200816 yr He is a yf2 cobalt spangle by the looks of things, Lovely bird. You have two normal blues, either cobalt or violet, a yf2 DF spangle and a normal white DF spangle. The mother would've had to of been a spangle to get DF spangles. And I'm guessing she was blue series, as there's no green series chicks. Edited May 30, 200816 yr by *libby*
May 30, 200816 yr I was actually thinking that she could have been carrying blue and that yellow one might have been a green series DF spangle. It seemed to be a lot of yellow for a YF that's all I would have expected a more graduated cremino type look at that age as the yellow generally moves down as they get older..
May 30, 200816 yr No, that bird is too light a yellow to be a green series bird. It is exactly like a Yf DF spangle looks.

May 30, 200816 yr okay well then it is a yellow face double factor baby, just has a lot of yellow already
May 30, 200816 yr Author I will get the chicks out tomorrow and take some better pictures. Also I need to get him a new mate so what would you all recomend
May 30, 200816 yr I love the dom pieds that get the yellow face. If you got a blue based dominant pied hen of any colour you should get white and blue/grey babies and yellow and blue babies, very pretty. The yellow budgie in my signature is a yellow face cobalt blue dominant pied spangle. Edited May 30, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
