Norm, yo9u are rifght sorry mate we must have posted near the same time ... the Blue series not a normal ... thats for the correction norm. I was close lol ......

I cannot see an iris ring on this bird , so to me it isnt a clearbody .

My guess would be what is called a composite

I see an eye lid , but no ring!

The ring blends in around the eyelids, perhaps i'm crazy, but I definatly see one.

thanks derek , I stand corrected.

:P

So what is it ....... Texas Clearbody or an Opaline with a very clean head. :P

It would have to be an opaline with a very clear head AND body if it was just a normal opaline fluke LOL!

I'm stumped, either way it's gorgeous though :P

But opaline wouldn't explain that light body color would it? Unless a strong yellow/golden face could mess the body colour?? Incase it was YF. The cheek patches look brown in that small face picture, but they're actually black, I got it confirmed, I actually thought they were brown... We've been asking some more pictures from the front, let's see if we get some. Though the one I put is quite good already.

Nope  I don't think so... All of my fallows are the "german" kind with iris rings, but don't look like that... Not even the opaline ones

Saddleback

Didn’t anyone think I was right when I said I thought it was an Easley Clearbody? Like I said on page 1. There are none in OZ so I looked on the net to confirm…that’s what I think it is.

Funny how people get off on a tangent isn't it Norm , I read your statement and I agree.

You could be right Norm but from what I am reading there are no Easley Clearbodies on the European Continent.

Finally confirmed; it's an Easley clearbody. I contacted the belgian breeder (link I put before) and he told me the news. Also wished he would have lots of babies, because Easley is very rare, though the gene is dominant. Thank you everyone for participating and for giving new ideas and ways to look atbudgies coloring!! :D

Norm, was right great job....at least I was thinking TCB, I would also add in their opaline because he is that too.

Pity we don’t have them here, to me that looks like a pretty nice Mutation with the reduction in body colour, but still has full strength colour in the wing pattern. You wonder why the Mutation is not more popular & being Dominant it would be a lot easier to breed, if it was possible I for one would like some. Someone might import some if imports are resumed, but without a spontaneous Mutation I couldn’t afford it.

http://www.bestofbreeds.net/belgianbs/engl...bs/mervilde.htmThere's a Belgian breeder at least.
Those two first birds from left to right, on that site are Easley’s I think, I certainly like that second one Yellow with Black markings…nice bird. Thanks Falki...thanks for the post also we learnt quite a bit from it.

okay i skipped all the talk but I would like to know what sort of 'expert' would stant Goldface and light green in the same statment.

I'm guess this has been sorted but texas clearbody was the first type to come to mind with the first picture, the second comfirms it.

Edit: and now i see Easley clearbody was talked about. As stated it is rare and so 99% of the TCB is the answer.

Maybe someone would still be interested in this topic, so I add a new picture. I found this bird today in a petshop, but didn't have chance to buy it. Now the petshop is 400km from here (i was only passing by), so I'm trying to figure out a way maybe to get my hands on her. :hap: Because from what I know, she is possibly an Easley Clearbody too, or what do you think??

From behind I couldn't get a better picture, the other birds (cockatiels) were getting nervous.

Yes you could be right. Just that it is a badly marked one. The chest isn’t fully clear with Yellow but has blotches of Green through it. Often to get a rarer mutation you have to start with an imperfect one, as even they could later breed better type birds.

She is pretty :hap: Do you know someone near by the shop who can buy her and hold her until you visit again??
