Posted May 27, 200817 yr Today l got my budgie's new cage, at a really good bargain. This is the picture of the cage taken from the ad. The original owner's of this cage was very kind to deliver it right to my door, since it wouldn't fit in my car. She also included some natural perches. One thing l noticed thou, the cage doors are guillotine style but l have decided to fix the doors so the will swing open rather then slide. l will first clean and renovate the cage before letting my budgies into this cage. l will also have to disassemble my lightstand and move things around before l will be able to fit this cage into my room, it is huge. Here is a picture of the cage my budgies are in now. This is the new cage on it's side(the only way it will fit in my room for now.) looking from the top looking from the bottom to the top a side view top half

May 27, 200817 yr WOW!! Thats an awesome cage!!! More toy shopping... and i think you could add another budgie, or 2, or 3 or 4 more in there too hehe
May 27, 200817 yr Author Thanks all l do have alot of toys for them but l will be going to go on a toy spree soon, to fill up there new cage with new toys
May 27, 200817 yr Looks great Birdluv…but if it’s difficult for you to get new natural perches, I would make sure you wash & disinfect any used ones, as you don’t know the history of their birds. Also when they are dead like that it’s hard to know if they are from safe plants. Your birds will enjoy all that space even if you don’t buy some more.

May 28, 200817 yr You can use natural perches like I do from safe trees, and bake them for 20 mins at 200 F degrees, it kills anything in there, let them cool and then give them the perch, I have done that with both my birds, Pretty loved to strip the bark, the bigger ones are excellent for their feet to exercise along with the smaller ones, I actually keep the small branches on because Merlin will hop from one perch to the next, his fav is the swing I made for him a last year, Pretty's was the rope perch .
May 29, 200817 yr wow your budgies are moving up!They are going to love the extra room! Can't wait to see it all set up
May 29, 200817 yr Looks great ... Perches as long as they ( the birds) can't grip the perches so that their front toes touch their back ones they are fine... and so that they aren't all flat ( unless for a special needs) it all good
May 30, 200817 yr Author hey that is great to know, l will not be throwing them out, l will disinfect them and let my budgies enjoy them.
