May 26, 200816 yr Thanks for the infor Derek. As uninterested as I thought I was in show birds, I find myself becoming increasingly interested! It's addictive,I've only been to one show,Daz's local one last year and I loved the whole experience.I'm now going to get show budgies if I ever get another aviary. They are gorgeous! Thanks for the info Derek!
May 26, 200816 yr It's addictive,I've only been to one show,Daz's local one last year and I loved the whole experience.I'm now going to get show budgies if I ever get another aviary. They are gorgeous! Thanks for the info Derek! I started with pets and still love their colours and have kept too many for their colours alone and am anticipating breeding from "my own" girls when they mature. I have recently collected a few really lovely show types and I look forward to seeing the results from breeding the two together. I dont feel I want to concentrate on breeding really big fluffy show birds yet, but certainly bringing up the size of my pets is the challenge I am interested in - Totally addictive!
May 26, 200816 yr I am back from the Nationals where I was the assistant the the main photographer, I also was the carrier ( via HEARSE ) of birds from holding area to judging area and back again at days end. It was brilliant. We took many photos and I will try and post some tomorrow. Too tired today. Meeting Daz was terrific .....handsome, young looking and taller than I imagined. Great person to get to know Got to talk with some of the bigger breeders by introductions. We had Ghalib and Janice Al Nassar there also. Wonderful time Edited May 26, 200816 yr by KAZ

May 26, 200816 yr Just flew in. It was great meeting Kaz and chatting over the last few days. I would have to say that was one of the top things of the nationals. I meet some great people and made some good friends. Talking about Dark Eyed Clears and Recessives with Ghalib Al-Nassar was great. Siting and having a few beers with Derick Poole and Roy Blair from the partnership of Blair and Poole. Discussing the health and wellbeing of the birds with Gary Armstrong. Meeting and talking Budgies with Alister Holmes of Howard and Holmes. There was many many others that I met and will miss. But I am now looking forward to Tasmania 2009. I've been on the road since 5:30am Perth time. It's now 9:16pm Brisbane time. So I'll now go and get some rest.
May 26, 200816 yr He's baaaaaaccccckkkkkkkkk!!! Quick everyone, pull up your socks! :hap: welcome back and I'm glad you had a great time!
