Posted May 22, 200817 yr Just wondering generally speaking how old your babies are before the hen lays a second clutch? My current pair only have the two babies and I plan to let them go for one more round but I'd like to try and time a second pair to breed at the same time.
May 22, 200817 yr Author Thanks, so if I wanted to store their eggs for a short period until the other pair started laying(or they HAD to start being incubated) what is the best way/temp to store them and how long can I store them for?
May 22, 200817 yr I think they can be stored for around a week, but no temperature..once you start warming them its incubation and must be done right and kept constant. You can put them in a dish with seed in it. Worth checking the timeframe though as I have never done it this way...always have spare hens on eggs.
May 22, 200817 yr Author Sorry by temp I meant do they need to be cooled or is a cool room temp okay (say if I put them in the laundry)
