I live in Newcastle and in a month or so I will be after some birds, up to 20, to stock my new aviary. Where will be the best place to get em? I imagine paying $35 each at a pet shop would not be the way to go as those birds do not always appear to be the best and it would be very expensive.

Also any tips on what type to buy? I dont want to breed just to have a good mix of budgies.

There is a bird sale at Cessnock this Saturday 24th at the Basketball stadium from 10am to 2pm where you can buy good quality budgies around $10 each. If thats not an option contact the Newcastle Budgie Club who will be able to put you in contact with some good breeders. Hope this helps!!

just on what type to buy, basically its what stands out in your eyes. there are many types and colours out there. i have both the australian and english birds and in a aviary it basically makes up a rainbow. have fun getting your birds as sometimes it's hard to decide on what birds to pick
