Posted May 16, 200817 yr Well this would be the forth day today of putting the nest box on and well Lumina my hen goes in it an awfull lot for the past two days and George her partner feeds her and preens her and she does the same to him and just today Ive noticed her poops have been alot large then normal but I havent seen the mate at all. She also likes to chew alot more than normal. Heres some picture I took today

May 16, 200817 yr Normally if you just put a pair together in a cabinet, if all is well they can have eggs in about 10 days, but I suspect that your pair have been together before you placed the nest in & the fact that you say her poops are getting bigger [which is a sign that things are getting close] you could have them within a few days.

May 16, 200817 yr If you've seen attempts of mating, they may actually accomplished the deed when you weren't looking. A quick 'hello ladies' and it's done... it doesn't take much
