Posted May 15, 200817 yr hi all, question for you. Was speaking to a breeder during the week who produces Violets from greens, anyone else done this???? He explained how you can tell and etc that a green is carring the violet and how it will produce it so, I am up for this challange, next set of breeding .......
May 15, 200817 yr Violet is an added factor and if the bird is a green split to blue bred with another blue or another green split to blue you can get a visual blue violet is that what you are meaning? Explain more what he had to say ....are you talking about getting Green Violets or Blue Violets.
May 16, 200817 yr A violet green is a bird that looks olive. My Radar is a violet green and a bird I sold to Libby is a violet green. These are birds from violet parents and the chick startts out grey in the nest and becomes green with a moult. As an adult it looks olive green but it is a violet green. From these birds you will get violets.
May 16, 200817 yr ............I have bumped the topic of my violet green budgie for you Neat http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....c=12490&hl=
