Hi All

 

Just wanted to thank everyone who has given me advice and support over the past couple of months - I'm afraid that both my budgies have gone now. Frankie was put down on Friday night. She kept laying eggs and she was very swollen and sore. The vet said short of an op to remove her reproductive organs there was nothing more we could do to stop the egg laying and egg binding.

 

So thanks again.

Sorry to hear your news Amanda, like others have said don’t let it make you give up, that’s just part of life, just get stronger & wiser & keep on keeping on.

I don't know WHY some of them are obsessed with laying eggs even though the proper equipment is not provided, I had to give up one of my rescue budgies because of this to save her life (defied hormone injections) and I know where she is and she is doing well and not laying. But this moving around would not be successful or possible in all cases. Sorry for your loss. Frankie

Thank you all for your kind words - I think for now I'll stick to my two cats I enjoyed having Frankie and Ollie, we always had budgies when I was a kid but these two were the only hand-tame ones I've had - and they definitely had personality!!!
