Hi,

I have a budgie for several months and his is very thin and he does not seem do gain any weight, it looks like his getting thiner. He does not have appetite promblems, he is eating quite well. I gave him top quality food, egs, vegies...

Could he have some parasites? Could anyone give me some advice?

Thx

He could well have a parasite who is feeding of him and stealing his vital nutrience. Try checking him over for any kind of mite and worming him.

Wormer can be bought from a local pet shop usually /bird dealer and just check him over for any kind of mites on his body/feathers:)

How old is he?? I understand that you have had him for several months but did you get himas a baby???

Try giving him a wormer??? Or take to a vet like libb said

I would not worm a sick budgie without knowing for a FACT that is the issue more then often we self treat and then the bird ends up getting worse, there is an avian vet look-up in the FAQ's or you can open the phonebook and call around, your best bet would get to a diagnosis from an avian vet and treat him accordingly. He could be sick for any number reason not just parasites.... That is MY 2 cent....

Keep him very warm, covered in a hospital cage or small cage watch for symptoms and get him to a vet...
