Chick 1: A green normal (I think). He has been to the vet twice. First time was when he fell out (or mum pushed him out of the next box at 15 days old) his leg and foot didn't look right so off to the vets. It was a locum vet and she put a splint on it and when we went back 10 days later to see the normal vet he was disgusted, the way she put the splint on had dislocated his hip and it had set like that. Vet said surgery would correct it and he would cover the cost as it was there mistake. Still deciding if we will go down that road as it isn't affecting his health and he is managing to perch kind of.

Chick 2: An ino who died at 2 days old - mum wouldn't feed and the 2 foster mums I tried it with pushed it aside as well.

Chick 3: Not sure what color this is classed as?

Chick three is a grey green greywing by the looks of it.

beautiful parents and even more gorgeous babies, I love the pictures of the Gray Parent....you should submit your picture for June Budgie of the Month and see if you are picked as a winner....I wouldn't be surprised

I think chick no1 is a Yellow Faced 2 Blue & even though it doesn’t show that much in the picture you say no6 is YF also, so I guess Dad the Lutino must be masking Yellow Face. I think no3 is a Dilute with stronger wing patterns, as I don’t think you can have a Grey wing Dilute, as it’s supposed to be on the same allele. If my memory is serving me well I think there has been three Mutations on the same allele…Grey wing, Dilute & Clear Wing & can only be one or the other not two e.g. Greywing/Dilute.

Very true norm, you can only have one or the other from memory... But, what if the greywing is not a full body greywing, but a 50% dilute one, which can happen?

Aren’t those 50% [body colour do you mean?] Grey wings only overseas, aren’t our Grey wings full body colour.

I had thought that chick 1 was a blue at first but the wing colors put me off that idea, that's why I said green normal??
