Posted May 5, 200817 yr Where do breeders source their show budgies from? I went to the bird sale a few weeks ago but there wasn't much there. I can't seem to find a local bird club other than joining ASA which doesn't seem to have a local branch...
May 5, 200817 yr You need to find a proper budgie club near you, not a generic bird club. Try your states Budgerigar association for contacts

If so there is a very active Budgerigar Society at Dandenong. The Secretary is Judy Wilson and she can be contacted on (03) 9702 8070. That number is publicly listed on the internet. She will be able to put you in touch with some breeders. Derek
May 5, 200817 yr Author Dandenong is over an hour away from me but I could possibly go there once to buy budgies, don't think it would be a regular occurance though I'll give Judy a call though as she may be able to put me on to someone a little closer to home. Thanks for the info guys.
May 5, 200817 yr Author Thanks Derek found my closest club, they've got a sale on!...YESTERDAY!!! Isn't it always the way
May 5, 200817 yr I f you join your local budgie club, birds are always for sale through other members.
May 5, 200817 yr Author Well unfortunately none of them are actually particularly local to me, the closest is over a half hour drive away. I'll call each of the secretaries and see what the best arrangement is as won't be able to attend any meetings anyway as I have my little kids with me all the time.
