My Pet Budgie Franklin

Featured Replies

I have 4 pet budgies all are tame at different levels. Franklin is my second budgie and I've had him now for 5 months. I have noticed that he enjoys my company more now than when I first had him.

My first budgie is George and when I introduced Franklin (my second budgie) they bonded straight away. They couldn't keep away from each other. Always preening and fussing over each other.

George is tame and would sit on your hand but prefers to be in his cage. If you take him out of the cage usually he will sit on your hand for a while and then head back to the cage. Franklin used to always follow George all the time so he took on the same behaviour. I have noticed just recently Franklin enjoys sitting on my hand and would stay for a long period of time even if I take George out of the cage and if George heads back to the cage Franklin would remain sitting on my hand and not follow George.

It's funny how Franklins behaviour has changed. It goes to show how much a budgies behavious can change and become more tame with time.

Here is a short video of Franklin happily sitting on my hand.
