What To Wash A Budgie With?

I have been given a little female budgie that was attacked by a non parent adult while in the nest and have suffered some injuries. She is basically recovered now but as a result of the antiseptic that was put on her she has very dirty looking feathers. I would like to give her a wash but I'm not sure if there is a soap that is safe to use or whether I should just try and get it of with plain water. It's kind of greasy so not sure if just water is going to do it.

You can use warm water with a few drops of baby shampoo in it.

When I was younger I use to breed and show Wyandotte Bantams , We use to wash them in slightly warm water with Omo in it , it would clean the feathers beautifully.

I'd be concerned that it would be too caustic for a budgie. I tried the soapy water but she is still brown. I have just realised though that her cheek patches are the right colour and according to the lady she came from she has always been a dirty white colour so I am wondering if it is her actual feather colour? Time will tell if it moults out I guess!

I would just simply let it molt out it will be in no time quicker then you think and offer her regular bathes, her feathers are probably stained and all the washing will probably not take it off and be more traumatic.

Be Careful ! Don't throw the Budgie out with the bath water. My Mama use to say that to me all the time. My Mama use to drink allot.
