Posted April 24, 200817 yr I am looking at the absco A23151G Aviary. It is 2.26m(W) 1.52m(D) 2m(H) http://www.allaboutsheds.com.au/animalhous...irdavaries.html How many budgies could live in this size. I dont want to breed, I just want 15 or so. It looks pretty open to me I might need to close in one side for protection from the south. In colorbond this one is $689. Steve
April 24, 200817 yr That size would be fine for up to 25 budgies. The only thing with that design one is there is no safety door to prevent escapes. And as you said, you may need to provide shelter once you work out where your weather comes in.
April 24, 200817 yr Looks good, nice and big.... I have no idea bout the amount of birds that can be kept in there so I'll agree with Kaz : )
April 24, 200817 yr Author I like the idea of hanging a net over the door for when u walk in. I would also make a little hinged door on the side to access a feeding tray.

I have a towel hanging over my door so that it drapes around me as I go in. There is still a chance one may squeeze past but it is much lower than an unprotected door.
April 24, 200817 yr One of those mosquito nets on wooden hoops that are hung over beds are great for a safety door. You just hook it up over top the door...step into it and through and the same on the way out. Throw it back up on top of the aviary when not in use.
