Tweety Biting Feet

Tweety has starting biting my 10 year old daughter, if you saw my photos i posted of my birds with my son you can see that they are tame and love kisses but for some reason Tweety has taken to running up to my daughter and biting her feet hard when she walks into the room. I can be standing next to her and he stands on my feet and nibbles my toes but will go to her foot and bite her. Sometimes when she tries to pick him up he will bite her but he has never bit anyone else. The birds are only out when i am around to survive them with my children so he has never been hurt by her. Can budgies decide they like some people but not others? She is a typical girl who screams and does a little dance when he bites her so is Tweety being a typical kid and only doing it because he gets a reaction from her.

:D Gee. i hope you can sort out Tweety's nipping. Your poor daughter :(

Is Tweety moulting?

I haven't known a budgie to be possessive (attacking your daughter to be with you or your son), but it sounds a bit like that kind of behavior too.

I hope you find an answer soon.

he has just finished moulting

I don't think he is being mean I think he is being "orney" or but an "h" on that and is flirting with her feet. If your birds don't like to be sprayed I would have her correct the behavior with a quick squirt. Just a note on budgies on the floor it is very dangerous because they can be stepped on easily and crushed if not noticed especially if they are flying down there all the time. Many people including myself won't let them on the ground for this very reason.

i will try the spray and see if it helps. Tweety and Runt have their wings clipped so they are only out of the cage at night when my youngest kids are in bed but because they cannot fly they usual go to the floor when they are out of their cage.i put them up on the lounge but they go straight back to the floor.
