Will you take a picture of your aviary floor & walls & whatever attracts the most feathers ? When your birds are all in a molt of course. I want to see what the aviary looks like when multiple birds are molting.

I've never seen a molt on more then 2 birds at most, so its hard to have a real idea of what you all deal with on a larger scale.

Please & thanks to any Aviary owners who post pics.

Nick

Sorry can't help you mine aren't moulting in the aviary at the minute!

That's okay ... it doesn't have to be right away. I know birds molt all different times all over the world. If its next month or next year ... I will keep bugging you all until someone posts a picture. No big hurry !

Bugger, NN if you had of asks this 3 months ago I could have shown you an Avairy that was covered in Little white feathers lol ..... I will wait till the ext HUGE molt and take a picture for you : )

I'll get the front wire of mins for you, and the floor infront of it :) but it my take me a little while to get it

Not a problem ! When ever it happens, take a picture. I didn't know I wanted to see this ... so asking 3 months ago wouldn't have made much sense. Besides ... was I a member 3 months ago ?

I am just really curious now ... I can't imagine the mess you must see !

Mine is a mess. Feathers every where. That is why I vacuum every second day.

What kind of vacuum or system do you use Daz ? Is it a something for using outside or for industrial use or in a garage ? Or a ordinary house & home vacuum ? I wonder what type of vacuum is the best for an Aviary ... what would put up with the feathers ? I have have a good vacuum (Hoover) & its got 2 filters. It's horrible to clean the filters & after a week of steady vacuuming the birds feathers I notice the thing gets less suction as I use it during molting season.

Why aren't my birds BALD after they shed these copious amounts of feathers ? It's amazing.

I have such terrible feather problem under my back verandah that i have an old vacuum that i only use outside. Its the paper bag type and i will fill the bag to the brim in about half an hour hahahaha. but then i can just put the bag in the bin and not have to play around with messy filters :(

My inside vacuum is the HEPA filter bagless type which is fine for cleaning after my inside birds :D
