okay so I will gradually upload them and label them but there is lots of resizing involved so in the meantime here is my album link: http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x259/er...lexmax/?start=0

There are heaps of photos on there of my kids and other birds too but nothing sacred so feel free to sticky beak :grin:First few:

Spangle recessive pied

YF cinnamon wing

green opaline

YF opaline spangle

A toughy - there are one or two opaline marks on the wings but otherwise only very pale, also missing body colour over the rump. At this stage I was guessing skyblue clearwing maybe masking opaline?

Yellow? cinnamon opaline???

I am going to say YF2 Cinnamon and the cinnamon is making the bird look washed out the throat spots & wing patterns are too dark for a dilute Dilute budgies are washed out all over. The head and wing markings are very light, and the body color is about 80% diluted (washed out). I would say spangle but I don't see the dominant pied you are talking about?

The first bird? I don't see pied at all?

the other 2 I agree with sometimes the spangle marking are the color of the birds body I have always thought that was cool.

She hs a blue rump, tummy and a blue spot o her throatAccording to my 'reserch the opaline gene causes the spangles to be the body colour...

I don't see the blue spot you are talking about the first bird, I just don't see the pied in her at all.

Cool....so that opaline spangles are the ones that have the color of the body with the spangle markings I didn't realize that I always wondered, will have to look at our mutations page with spangles and opalines to see the correlation

On the last bird do you have a better picture of the front of her? She does look like a skyblue violet opaline clearwing it would explain the body being bright and the no marking on the wings unless she is a df factor pied in there too?

turned to link oversized

She has the band on her front yes? I think I see that now even in the first picture, that would be a dominant pied

If you mean as in on her belly then yes, nothing further up her chest though other than that spot. Isn't there something to do with iris rings...No iris ring equals recessive?

There are different types of dominant pieds, all dominant pieds should have iris rings some have only 1 that is more common in double factor dominant pieds.

My Merlin just has a very large spot on the back of his head with iris rings but no banding

Then there is the Clearflight Dominant Pied which has the banding and clearflights with iris rings which yours does look like her flights look clear with no markings.

The double factors have very little markings, but will have the blue cere or pied cere pink and blue & they have iris rings some just have 1 instead in both eyes.

by body markings i'd say it's a spangle yf2 recessive pied...

you have a lovely flock of birds and i loved browsing through your album. your 2 boys are very cute and is your youngest still in plaster, is it hard for him to get around.

He is still in plaster, the lastest of those photos was taken yesterday... It was very difficult for him initially but he is now walking on the cast so it's getting little easier now. He gets it off Thursday week.
