April 19, 200817 yr I just use stationary bulldog clips. I also have cups attached to the sides of my aviary 3/4 filled with sand, for dry things like millet sprays I have one without water, I also have a couple with water in them for fresh branches. The sand keeps them steady in the cups and also means that if a bird falls in they won't drown.

Take a smallish sharp spike or screw driver & put 2 holes in the cuttlebone side by side, 1 & 1/2 inch apart. Be careful doing this .. cuttlebones are brittle on one side. I suggest going thru the harder side first, it helps the bone not break. Then get a piece of solid twine or a plastic zip clips - (buy them at the dollar store) & slip it thru the holes ... place it in the cage where your birds & see it & have perch access to it & then firmly attach it with the string or zip ties on the outside of the bars. Works really well ! zip clips $1.00 for pack of 20 These are really strong & the birds can't chew through them. The Police use these as handcuffs in Toronto now. What ever happened to them old metal clunky hurt your wrist handcuffs ? Ah ... my miss spent youth ... days of being .. oh scuse me. Had a mental flash back there. Grade school was a hard time for me.
