Hi everybody,

I was just wondering what your favourite budgie mutation is im sure everyone has a different opinion i just thought it would be interesting to see. My favourite is the mauve or light violet i think they are beautiful. Also if anyone could tell me how you get mauves (light violet) i have been told a few different ways and im confused if anyone wants to shed some light on the subject it would be much appreciated. Thanks

I love them all  ...cannot choose just one type...

for me...its recessive pieds

dominant pieds

and Yellowface blues and greys.

:(:) :)

I agree with Kaz with so many beautiful ones but I do tend to lean toward the yellowface with not as much wash through the body :(.

Hey Kaz are the YF Greys hard to come by? I hadn't seen any until the other day when I fought the urge t buy one at a pet shop.

YES they can be hard to find...I paid a small fortune for a YF grey spangle recently....hope I get some chicks from him :(

This one was about $35, would it be worth getting at that price?

If you like the look and the age is right then YES I would if I was you.

I love the yellow faces too.

Lady (YF grey Spangle) cost me $20 - she is my favorite type at the moment :(

I also love YF opalines :P - My Pheobe is a lovely YF opaline and i am really hoping to get some YF violet Opalines from her one day.

My total favorite is.........YF violet cinnamon opaline :wub::wub::wub:

I have always liked Dominate Pieds

But this time around I'd like to breed some nice show normal greens.

And I also like Opaline greens

I like Opaline Texas Clearbodies [yellow] I'm partial to most Yellow Bodied birds with darker wing patterns, like TCB, Fallows, Darkwing Yellows, Cinnamon wing Yellows…I always like Opalines & Cinnamon wings [a Cinnamon Sky Blue I think is a real nice bird]. Also I think an Opaline Spangle is a nice bird. So many nice colours.

A pair of my young TCB's 2007 rung...brother & sister, the cock is the more desired colouring.

TCB1-2.jpg

The cocks wing pattern...would be better I think if had more even black through the wing.

TCB2-2.jpg

The hens wing pattern, I thought she might have been a Cinnamon, but the breeder I bought her parents from said that's the correct colour of wing for TCB.

A Green Fallow [Yellow] with the wing marking I like.

If I had to chose then its the Spangle.
