I have a beautiful lutino hen...just curious if there is a particular color/mutation that

would be best...looking to get more lutinos if possible. She is the only lutino I have.

I'm jealous!!!! Your in Florida... Thousands of miles away from the original homeland of Budgies and you have a Lutino and a Lacewing... The gods must be angry with me...

 

I would pair them... but I'm not sure what you'd come out with... When I breed I'm going to breed out of curiosity though, not on what will create great looking birds... even though I may very well achieve that by the pairs I pick...

if your lacewing is a yf then i too, am also jealous as i have a white lacewing and a green lacewing and would love to get come and get your boy

depends on what you are after. Rusty with Ino but if i remember correctly the pairing of them can create smaller birds. a split male, a green or violet would be a good match.

Like Nerwen says, they always advise mating an INO to a good Normal that is split to Ino. To improve your birds, as I think with most Recessives if you continue to mate R to R, size will deteriorate. Your birds look quite good type so you could use them with reasonable results. If your Lutino is split for Blue you could get some Lutinos, some Lacewing hens [which could either be White or Yellow] Albinos & even some Creaminos Yellow Faced Whites.

 

If she is not split Blue, all your chicks will be Green series, Lutino & Yellow Lacewings.

sue, I would go ahead and pair them up.. a good match if you are wanting inos and lacewings. A lacewing is an Ino + Cinnamon.

 

All hens will be lacewing, all cocks will be ino split for lacewing.

 

If hen is split for blue then you'll get 50% chance of each blue or yellow series, if not then all will be lutino (yellow) split for blue.
