I went and gave all birds their fresh water & vegies this morning and the funniest thing

the minute I changed the water they all wanted to bath in it ..... It went everywhere ..... It was raining ( aviary 1/3 mesh 2/3 colorbond) and they all wanted to get wet so instead of staying in the rain they all fghted over the water dish (Laughing out loud) ..... I eventually had to put another one in there .....

That is funny but it must be something in the rain to make birds act silly. I had Runt who is my inside budgie playing in his water bowl this morning and he does not normally like to get wet.I think he must have heard the rain outside.

Yeah that is what i thought (Laughing out loud) ..... so funny all these birds trying to get in bowls LMAO

rain makes bird act like very "frisky" (Laughing out loud) that is why not only does April Showers bring May flowers as they say but a lot of baby birds. They say not to put your bird next to running water or a fish tank for this various reason it stimulates the brain if there is plenty of water then there is plenty of food etc...

 

Anyways...back on topic Merlin does that ALL the time!

Yup Milly and Squee go nuts, dancing and singing when they hear the tap on - you should see them when I'm washing the dishes or their cage! I think it's especially important for budgies, who are desert birds, it must mean the end of summer/drought etc, a time of plenty. I also imagine they're wired to appreciate water where they can get it :fear
