Can a hen hatch & rear chicks when the **** has died or should I put another **** in with her?.

DO NOT ADD ANOTHER MALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you add another male then she would hurt him.

She will need extra food around for her but she can do it, if it is a large clutch (or might be) then if you can move some over to another pair. I don't know if you have another pair or not but it would help the single hen if she only had two or three babies to raise than five or six.

Good luck with them Harry Make sure when the eggs hatch that you have lots of egg food and fresh veggies for her to keep her strength up

Hi! Imotive, She has four eggs and she seems to be in the nest box all the time. If they are going to hatch it should'nt be long now. Thank you for asking.Cheers Harry.o0.

Your welcome I hope they hatched it sucks to see 2 clutches of eggs being gobbled up by the hen then finally 15 eggs later 1 egg hatched and its a miracle I lke to see that I am guessing the same thing will happen to you becasue they may be infertile becasue the male doesn't knmow how to do it...
