So, its a purple ring....is it a worn purple ring or a bright and shiny purple ?? If its a worn purple ring its a 2005 bird. Moulting doesnt indicate its age as birds do that every year. I think a breeder would have to be nuts to scrounge up a purple ring to put on a bird you think may be a 2008 bird.....no matter what reason. Why bother ?

I was looking at one of Daz's posts and he went thru a few ring numbers and when there was a Letter Number combination say 6S it was from a breeder whose sername started with S... so judging by this we are looking for a NSW breeder from the POM budgerigar society and they are the 8th person with a sername starting with X from that club... hmmmm... interesting... Budgie Holmes is on the case...

 

The only problem I just did a search on the NSW budgerigar societies page and none of their clubs are abriviated POM... alas we are back to square one...

Nar Kaz NEW Like a Dark Purple ..... I will take pics tomorrow and post and Phone around and try to end this saga ..... I do understand that they molt every year She has no Iris ring so this is how I came to the conclusion of being a young bird with a wrong ring

A breeder who goes to the trouble and added cost of having his own code on the rings would not throw any old one on. It could be the next Grand Champion ?? Who knows?

You wouldn't risk it.

I have a long list of breeders ID's I will go through them. Although I not at liberty to be publicizing peoples ID' on here.

I went back on Sunday to find the breeder found her but only to find that she isn't the breeder of this bird GRRRRRRR

Did you email the ring registrar? He details can be found here http://www.budgerigar.com.au/committee.html. (Click on her name to email) I believe she will need to contact the breeder before giving you the information. I have asked her for details in the past and she got back to me the next day. (However I am a member of the NSW Budgie Society - St George Branch)
