I just had a newly hatched baby and it is 1 month old Ive read a lot of websites about how it should act and stuff all i need to know is if it being crazy and wanting to go up my pants and just sitting there is normal becasue its really bothering me it wants to jump off my shoulder and drop I had to catch it soo often! Any suggestions I hope this it the place where id get the help i need!

I've never had a baby budgie so young but I would imagine it hasn't really learnt how to fly properly yet-is it eating well etc?

Well so far it has had seeds but i am trying the best i can to feed it fruits and veggies. But i don't think that explains why its crazy

I think maybe it's just learning about life!

If you got it from some one I would stay it was taken from the nest too early. I would connect the leg climbing to wanting to hide back in the nest box. If you can put a small cardboard box in the bottom of it's cage and it may feel happier and safe. As to the falling, has it got full wings? Umm I would suggest not putting him/ her up so high until you?re sure s/he is flying correctly. Is s/he okay with you handling him/her? If you are the breeder well I?m not sure how the parents would teat it now that s/he has been taken from them. Any single budgies, males would be the best. If so put them together, the male might start to mother it (as if it was his own baby.) I will warn you I've only read about this bit in a book on budgie breeding. That an older male will (should, might) take over the caring of newly fledge babies.

No I breed this baby myself and yes it is fine with me handling it but it still wants to jump off me from time to time but i thnk s/he is flying better because she still crash a couple of times.

Yeah I would say s/he just need to get more exprience with flying I had one baby learn the use of her wings quickly and was jumping/flying out of the next onto the branch and the others having to climb about.
