Posted March 25, 200817 yr I was just wondering i have two dark purple (violets?) i want to breed violets and was just wondering what female should be put to a purple male to get purple chicks? i read the understanding violet forum and got a bit confused i would love to breed any shade of violet i think they are gorgeous. I also have 2 lutinos and was wondering what would be the best match for them to get albino, creamino and lutino babies from them??? if anyone could help i would love to hear from you
March 25, 200817 yr You breed a visual violet to almost any blue bird..like a cobalt...you will get violets. Violet to violet will get you smaller birds. You dont usually breed violets to inos because of suffusion issues.
March 25, 200817 yr Author Thanks kaz i thought that about the blues just wanted to make sure with the inos i want to breed some albinos if possible what colours are best chances to mix to get them i didnt even think about that and one of my lutinos paired with my smaller violet male and none of the eggs were fertile i didnt know about that so what generally happens when you cross an ino with a violet?
March 25, 200817 yr Missylu - Breed your Violet with your Blue Spangle ..... What are you after from your lutino?????
March 25, 200817 yr Author I would love some albinos or creaminos is there a certain colour that lutinos often throw if paired with a blue or ect?
March 25, 200817 yr I'm glad I read this thread! I have two babies (6 months old) that are "in love" and I was so excited about breeding them when they are old enough, cause both of them have violet colouring and both have cinnamon, but they aren't big birds to start with and if violet to violet breeds smaller birds, I guess I shall have to split them up for breeding *sigh*
March 25, 200817 yr Are your lutino's girls or boys? Depending on whether their parents were green(yellow) or blue (white) birds would depend on whther they could have albino babies or not. To get creamino you will need a bird that is yellowface blue and also ino or split ino (albino). Best bet is to pair to an albino or a blue bird that is split ino.
March 25, 200817 yr Author Thanks for that i just brought a cobalt blue yellow faced male today once it is out of quarintine i will pair it up with my female lutino and see what we get thanks for the tip :rip:
March 25, 200817 yr Hopefully the bird is split Ino so you can get albino or lutino birds, otherwise you may not. Good luck. (got any pics of him?) :rip:
March 25, 200817 yr Author i will put some pics up tommorow when there is daylight which one do you want to see the yellow face and lutino?
March 29, 200817 yr Author I am starting to doubt if this is a lutino i cant get close enough to see her eyes i think they maybe black? http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll238/m...23/birds027.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll238/m...23/birds013.jpg violet? http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll238/m...kersclub043.jpg My 2 violets together this is my yellow faced mummy she paired with a green normal and they produced pure blues? i dont get it ? http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll238/m...kersclub047.jpg If anyone has any ideas on what these birds official names are or ideas on who i should pair up with who please tell me i would love to here from you also what birds do i have to buy to get white birds from probably a stupid question? they dont have to be albinos just mainly white Edited March 29, 200817 yr by Elly pictures oversized, they should be no more then 450x450, thank you for understanding
March 31, 200817 yr Hey Missylu Conlony Breeding is like a box of chocolates you'll never know what your gonna get ...(Laughing out loud) Are you sure there was no HANKY PANKY with others hehehhe .. If memory serves me correctly Blue and Yellow = White?????
March 31, 200817 yr The normal green would have to be split for blue, that is one of his parents is a blue bird. Thats how you get blue babies from a Green and Blue pair.
