Posted March 24, 200817 yr One of my birds was sitting with hid head tucked behind him and all fluffed up in the avairy, so i thought he should get a day or two in the hospital cage. So i bought him inside, and he has demosntrated that he is perhaps the greatest actor known to man, or bird. Outside he was all fluffed up and lethargic, inside he is full of energy. His poo is a little green and a bit runny, so he will stay inside with a lamp and some calcivet in his water for a couple of days, but if someone walked in now, you would never know he is not well. I have some pics below, and a video which really demosntrates his activeness, but damn photobucket is having issues uploading movies at the moment. Freezes halfway everytime. I will get the vid up as soon as possible, til then, the pics will have to do. he is only sitting on the ground as he is a little afraid of the camera. He perches all the time, and when not perching, he $ running up and down the front of the cage, looking for a way out.

March 24, 200817 yr Author I have a Dumb Questions Dave, Are you sure he wasn't resting as this can sometimes be mistaking for sickness ... However the pooy bum sooo forget what i wrote (Laughing out loud) I am sure Neat. I gave him a day to see if it was just that, sleeping. he was still like that today so I got him out of the aviary. Clean bum, but I checked some poos he did in the hospital cage and they are green and a bit runny.
March 24, 200817 yr They're sneaky aren't they?!?! If only they realised that pretending they aren't sick is actually not helping them at all. I hope Punter feels better soon and can go back with his friends.
March 24, 200817 yr Hope it is nothing bad .... and the Oscar for best dramatic budgie goes too ..... drum rolls .....
March 25, 200817 yr Author Punter is still inside in the hospital cage. I came home today and cleaned his pooey bum. he has a lot of poo stuck to it, which is funny, as before I bought him inside, he had none. he was lethargic, but he had a clean bum. Now, he seems less lethargic, but has a dirty bum. Here is the video I took of him. My camera does not have sound, soyou will simply need to make noises like a budgie running on paper and some chirping sounds as you watch it. http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p125/dm...nt=P1010005.flv Edited March 25, 200817 yr by Elly u = you, not approved shortcut changed, please only use approved shortcuts thank you for understanding. :)
March 25, 200817 yr looks like he is ready to get out, maybe what is in his system is coming out and he will be okay, fingers crossed.
March 25, 200817 yr hope he improves soon. Never nice to see budgies sick... or any pet for that matter.

March 27, 200817 yr he is getting worse. He has been in a hospital cage with a warm light on him. he is harly eating now. I am a little worried Doesn't sound good... a trip to the avian vet perhaps?
March 27, 200817 yr Author Punter did not make it. I need to get some sulphadim for the future, learn to crop feed and get a traditional light. I am thinking that all the lights I have do not generate enough heat.
