March 22, 200817 yr He is doing very well. His crop is full, his wings are held high and he look content.
March 23, 200817 yr Hiya Neat, hey, watch out. If you have had a nest with red mites I hope you are still treating their surrounds for it. They only attack at night and during the day they hide in cracks and crevices around the aviary. Nasty little things that you normally get from wild birds, especially if you have a mesh top that the wild birds can land on. That chick looks like it is going really well though, congrats! Feathers. March 23, 200817 yr Author Thanks guys - I had treated the boxes and Aviary since then , None of my Aviaries have mesh tops they are all closed up - Have a feeling it was from a second hand nest box ...GRRRRRR .... HOLD UP STILL TREATING??? THOUGHT IT WAS A ONE OFF THING?
March 23, 200817 yr Neat, It more than likely came in with the nestbox then. I wouldn't trust that you got it all.. especially eggs. Treat it again after 6 -8 days and then again 6 - 8 days... just to be sure. Make sure you get in every nook and cranny. It won't harm the budgies. Feathers.
March 23, 200817 yr Author FAR OUT !...... I will now ..... I am wanting the Bubs to fledge so I can re locate the breeding aviary as I do not like where it is at and then I can scub it all out and treat everything ...... Dave gets paid on TUESDAY AND I AM GETTING CABINETS .... Yes people please do not fall over from shock ....... I did say cabinets ...... So I can't trust anything now . So Feathers should I treat these too
March 23, 200817 yr Neat, most definitely... I wouldn't like my babies hatching in an area where I don't know the history. I always treat mine for mites first and then disinfect them ready to go! Feathers.
March 23, 200817 yr Author See I never had a problem Until this Round Out of 10 eggs I think it was 5 hatched ( died Really young 1 - 2 days from hatching) but 2 are alive .... I will Cooplex It all before I get it and set 'em up
