I am in the process of putting up and aviary for my 9 budgies, they have been inside apart from 1 of the budgies that was brought from an outside aviary, when we put them out into the aviary, which will be in the next couple of weeks, will they be o.k, i.e with the weather at night when it get's cold because they would not be used to the night weather...

They should be fine, and if added in now (the end of summer) should have enough time to adapt for winter

keep a close eye on them

I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem... like libby said with the warm weather at the moment it should give them a chance to settle before winter. Good luck and make sure you post some photo's when its all done and they are in

They just need to acclimatise like Libby says...now is a good time. Watch out for draughts. I hang roller blinds ( matchstick cane ones ) in front of the aviary and let them down in the evening and pull them up for the daytime. It helps.

I noticed you said you bought the 1 budgie will be put in in a couple weeks how long have you had him from today? Just to note birds should be quarantined for 30 days before being introduced to the flock. .

I used to do that too Kaz... untill a family of huntsmen decided to move in :hap: Needless to say it was gone quick smart and I'll be forever greatful to my Dad for doing the job!!!

Ewwwww, I can imagine!They make my skin crawl. I'd rather a whitetail or red back on me then a huntsman... even though they are harmfull/deadly... I think it's the fact they are huge and hairy!!!!

We have plenty of red backs too
