Baby Food

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I went to buy some veggie baby food the other day for a quick healthy meal for Coco on nights when I am home late from study.

Most of them I found had 'natural onion flavour' in the ingredients list (quite far down the list too). Do you think that this would be okay, or something that I should avoid??

Thank you :D

If you have a look in the FAQ there is a list of unsafe foods......

Here

....and onion is one of them - tut tut budgie food making company :D

Sorry Liv :D , I probably didn't make that very clear, it is human baby food. I just wasn't sure whether being such a small amount and just flavour it would be harmfull.

As for potato, I know that raw is bad, but how do people feel about cooked, not on its own, but say a small amount mixed with veggies?

Yeah, I tried the sweet potato and sweet corn the other day mixed with some seed, Coco wasn't too keen, but she never is at first (I must admit, I tried a bit without the seeds and it was quite nice :D ). They don't contain added preservatives and yucky stuff so I thought it might be a good idea for days when time is too short to be creative.

My father regularly mixes very little onion to the veggie feed along with some times ginger and garlic :P. So far no problems were observed.

Even I have noticed ONION in the unsafe food list and I was actually planning to start a new topic on this to get confirmed on this :D.

Anyways hope we will have to wait for other responses :D.

I just got home from food shopping tonight and where I found a parsnip, sweet potato and carrot with no added flavours or anything. I will give that a shot this weekend, but it may well end up being my lunch not Coco's :D
