since i don't have any other birds, just my guinea pig. do i still have to quarantine the babies once they come to their new home? if so how long should it be?

No. If your babies are coming from the same breeder and there are no other birds in the house, they will be fine without quarantine. Just be sure that they are weaned before your friend sends them to you and not still relying on parents for food.
