The chicks take Best to warm/slightly hot food... If the dad is only feeding the ones who come to the entrance of the box to meet him, try feeding the other ones who miss out warm formula... I prefer to use a syringe for this with a hot glass of water to keep it's temp in Nearby... If it's warm on their beak, they should take to it... so Hence keeping it constanlty warm with the glass of water to rest the syringe in

An upturned icecream tub is fine

 

 

I use this with no lid and up the other way for daytime, and with the lid and this way for nighttime.

This is my daytime nest for youngsters in the breeder cabinet. Same icecream container, lid off and upturned for daytime. Lid on and turned over for night wityh nesting materials for warmth
