Fantastic pics... Again, I really like the aviary. Looks great... don't forget to put pics up when you get all the breeding cages into the L shaped section... I don't think you moved them as they were on eggs right?

Looking GGOOOOOODDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be over in a flash with my travel cage...okay ? :D

We did end up moving them JimmyBanks

I risky exercise!! but I figured the sooner the better. I haven't decided on the type of breeding cages yet. I have visited a few top breeders and have seen different setups.

I have bought a couple of each of whats available to see which I think will serve the best.

The four pairs are in breeding cabinets with the slide out box. I used them when I was breeding before. I have seen the wire type cages but have wondered what stops the birds from cross breeding through the wire? I may get some wooden ones made with dividers with the external box that clips on the front.

Time to visit a cabinetmaker.

Looking fantastic!!! ...but where are they're toys??? :)

:D Yep! That's me!!! They sound good. Mine like their shreding toys, bells, natural branches with leaves and beaded toys. I'm sure once you get your wheel and your jungle jim in there, it'll pass the 'fun' test!!! (Laughing out loud). I love your avairy by the way...

I am open to any suggestions though! :)

My aviary has a hampster exercise wheel attached to the side of the aviary and quite a few get in it and go for a run :rip:

Looks like it just clips to the wire?

Yes...its an easy fit and easy to clean too. They all go fo a run, but stop when they see you get the camera out :)

I have a couple of really fat budgies I should lock in a cage with no perches and just the exercise wheel :rip:

You could have a row of them, with little towel racks. It would look like a budgie Gym :(Laughing out loud):

Arrrm, where do I start Kaz, I could write pages on this subject!

As I've said before I can not take any credit for any of these birds. Yet!

To be quite honest I have spent a lot of money for well above average budgies. Even though I have been classed a novice, I have breed budgies for a long time, so to start with average birds just seemed a waste of time.

I bought a whole stud of about 45 birds from a local women. Her birds were basically Elise/ Chidel / Gazzard. Out of the 45 I culled about 25. I than went to see Barry Wise and purchased about 12, again when you go through the pedigree they are Gazzard / Bardon / Chidel. Then I hit the auctions! sitting there with some of the big names in budgies and bidding against them was great! With them all wondering who is this guy!?!

I am pairing them up, keeping them in there family groups to see what they will throw. Some combinations will 'CLICK' and some won't. The best lines will be retained the others that didn't work I will no longer continue with. You can buy the best bird in the country but at the end of the day, if you select the wrong partner, than you are just wasting it's true potential.

As soon as I get some young I will post pics of them and the parents.

A video of my budgies just in the new Aviary.

They are a bit flighty, but are well and truly settled in now.
