I said in another topic that i would update you with any news about the eggs and breeding pairs... and this news is hot!!

 

Just now i went to check the nest boxes. I found 2 little eggs in Eeyores and 1 in Skys!!

 

But I think that one of Eeyores eggs is cracked...I think that the father might have been clumsy. They are both first time parents.

They are reasonable size but are too young to candel.

 

Iam not sure what to do..

 

 

Can you give me some advice??

I am sure the experts will be here many are sleeping, Norm usually comes on around the time or you can PM him. The crack is a slight or just totally cracked? I believe if it is a small facture it can actually be fixed.

I had an egg recently that had a slight crack (The membrane was not broken) and the chick hatched perfectly well. You can repair the egg but I will let someone elese answer this as I have not done this yet.

A hole can be repaired using a small piece from another egg and gluing it in place. A crack can be repaired using white out or liquid paper brushed over the crack. If you think the crack is large enough or open enough to have let air in already and its been awhile, thow the egg away.

A water based glue. One we have here in Australia is Aquadere.
