Hi guys

This is Joker. I bought him a few months ago privately, cause I was really excited when I saw him in the aviary and thought he was a violet cinnamon. After I got him home though, I decided I was mistaken. The person I bought him from breeds a few budgies as a bit of a hobby, but really doesnt know much about colouring. Anyway, after some discussion with a couple of "budgie people", we have agreend is opaline cinnamon........what? He looks grey in some lights and violet/mauve in others. Any ideas?

He has paired up with Snowflake my DEC and I know that cause I dont know the lineage, they could have anything, but just for my reference I was wondering if anyone has ideas on his colouring.

Thanks for your input :)

I agree with the Opaline Cinnamon :D

As for his colour - wow, very pretty! Perhaps a violet with some grey gene in there too????

What colour are his cheek patches???

He's of the very cute genetic mutation :D I say that about all the budgies but its true... I haven't seen an ugly one yet.

He is either a cinnamon opaline violet or a cinnamon opaline mauve. I have a cinnamon violet or two and there body colour is lavender. Yours appears to be more mauve in colour explaining the grey in there as well. Dark factor anyway but that wont show because of the cinnamon.

Thanks for the input......and yes, he is quite cute :D hehe

Not a particularly big bird, but the hen he has paired up with is a nice size for a pet bird, so we shall just see what happens :(

poor bird, it was a he and now is a she... still cute though...
