Posted March 9, 200817 yr As some of you might remember we've planned to build new aviaries for my birds outside, using an old piggy house. But because our first baby is coming soon (in a couple of weeks ) and we don't have so much time to fix the old piggy house, etc. and we really need to move the birds out, as my husband found out he has a feather allergy (so there is a chance the baby will have it too), so we decided to buy a glass house and turn it into an aviary, I think it will work and later, we will attach it to the fixed piggy house - before the winter comes. The only thing I didn't want to do, but I don't have much of choice now - I will have to put the budgies and the tiels together, as if I separated the glass house, they wouldn't have so much space . But I guess some of you here have them together and they are okay, right? I'm definately not going to colony breed, so they should be fine, I hope  I have lots of spare cages, so if there are any fights I can take the tiels out. The glass house is about 3,1m long, 2,5m wide and 1,9m high, I will take some pictures when we finish it Yesterday we've built the metal construction and today hopefully we will continue. March 9, 200817 yr Running out of time is something I think we all face at times... How many budgies v's tiels do you have. I think the issue with housing them together is the budgies are much more 'annoying' and tend to both the tiels. Do they have play time together in the house? How does that go? In time, I'm sure they'll get on fine. The initial what the? might cause some headaches. I tried introducing my budgies and tiels yesterday (opened up the divider between them). One of my female budgies flew in to visit. She wasn't attacked, just followed around. She was in there for about 5 minutes. Good luck and let us know how things go!

I've got 24 budgies and 4 tiels, they don't get time together now, but live right next to each other. I know it's not the same, but I think they will be fine. I'll see, I can always take them out if there is a problem.
