Posted February 4, 200520 yr okay this is gona sound really werid every other week for no reason Mitsi (my male, hes 6/7 months old) smells like sour milk, does this happen to anyone else's budgies ? Claire xXx
February 4, 200520 yr Wow I've never experienced that-sorry I know that's no help whatsoever but I'll be really interested to read the answer. Julie
February 4, 200520 yr this can be a sign of some sort of yeast infection. he could probably do with a visit to the vet, as yeast infections dont seem to clear up on their own to well. has he recently had a change of diet? is he scratching and preening more than usual? February 4, 200520 yr I used to notice that with Rainbow sometimes. It always seemed to correspond to his "hormonal" times when he would regurgitate to everything. To set your mind at ease, in case he has a crop inflammation or something that would cause the crop to empty too slowly, a trip to vet would be a good idea.
February 6, 200520 yr okay the smell was there of a day n now its gone, he was acting totaly normal, apart from running around after scooby trying to do the business with her!!! I'm gona book him into the vets n take him for a little check up. Claire xXx
February 9, 200520 yr right took him to the vets, he thinks hes giving scooby every scrap of food inside him, n has said to encourage him to eat a bit of food n have a bath n the smell should fade as he starts to digest it. But if it lasts longer that normal to bring him up to the vets. Claire xXx
February 10, 200520 yr Ahhh, so he's feeding her a lot, is he??? :fear I had a hunch that's what it was. I'm glad it wasn't a problem due to illness. I'll bet you feel better, don't you? If you have a spare cage, you might seperate them some so he's not so inclined to feed Scooby all the time if it bothers you. Otherwise, my guess is that he will probably stay that way until either of them goes out of condition.
February 10, 200520 yr Otherwise, my guess is that he will probably stay that way until either of them goes out of condition. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There only just going into condition, i have to seperate them the other day coz scooby was bullying him again, the poor guy is really hen-pecked, n the were both climbing the sides of the cages n calling each other :fear , scooby got really distresed as well so i felt really bad n let her in with mitsi again. I think i'll just force feed him everytime i see him feed her!! Claire xXx
