Posted March 7, 200817 yr Hi there, Ive read here before , that if you want your budgie to talk, dont let it hear or see other budgies? Well, i have 1 nice budgie at the moment, but saw this beautiful cockatiel the other day that i would like to buy. If i buy this cockatiel, I dont plan to put him in the same cage as the budgie, but i would like to know if it would be okay for them to be in separate cages in the same room ? ? WILL THIS STOP my budgie from learning to talk ? I assume that because they are different birds, they wont try and talk to each other like to 2 budgies would, so hoping it will be okay and not stop my budgie from learning to talk ? Advice appreciated jas
March 7, 200817 yr You would have 30 days quarantine in a SEPERATE room to bond with your new bird for a start, as quarantine means a seperate room and seperate cage. A few members on here have both tiels and budgies so I am sure they will have some good answers for you. Cheers kaz
March 7, 200817 yr it should not stop him from tlaking at all... My tame budgie honey who is around 3 months old now has just learnt his first "word" haha... it's a weero call! from living in cages next to one another, so be prepared for cross overs
March 7, 200817 yr :ygbudgie: I have lovebirds, budgies and cockatiels in my living room/dining room, and we all interact just fine, just not all together at the same time.. You MUST watch them however, if they are outside their cages all at once.. Cannot say it would hinder the budgie OR cockatiel talking at all if you develop a close, personal relationship with them. I had a young cockatiel once and he picked up many human words, budgie sounds, telephone rings, microwave noises......... Edited March 7, 200817 yr by Phoebe
