March 1, 200817 yr Hi Jenene, the pairs look great! I hope you have lots of time to wait for the last couple though... the hen hasn't started going into breeding condition yet, although she obviously loves her boy! Can't see the cere in the other couples. Feathers.
March 1, 200817 yr Ohhhh I love baby budgies Can't wait to see how they turn out ... your last 3 pairs are like mine so I will get a rough idea of what to expect ..... Good luck with it all and keep us posted .... Fingers Crossed for plenty of fertile eggs

March 7, 200817 yr How long does it take from 'doing the deed' to laying? Are you sure it's his? Could she have been busy with one of the other males before you put her in the breeding cage with her man??? Congrats anyway!

I'm pretty sure its about 5-6 days from the time the "do the deed" :hap: till the first egg is laid, so they must've "done it" very shortly after pairing them up! I didnt notice her with any of the other birds, so I'm presuming he's the father!!

March 9, 200817 yr Author It usually takes about 10 days from the time they are put in the cabinets. so that was quick...good luck. Yes Norm, I was expecting them to take between 10 days to 2 weeks but ONE week? That was real quick! They must've been very ready to get started!!

March 11, 200817 yr Why is it so?????? mmmm Good news otherwise though! I dont know and its very frustrating! Hi Jenene, I am assuming that one of the pairs not yet laying is the last one in your initial post. Give them time... the hen wasn't in laying condition. If the male is he may stimulate the hen into condition. Maybe that is the case with the other pair? Great news for most of the pairs though! Can't wait to see some pink jellybean photos Feathers.
