February 29, 200817 yr A light in a small cage for warmth, with snuggly material to make her comfortable Has she eaten? she may need a boost of food via crop needle if she's not strong enough to eat?
February 29, 200817 yr Author A light in a small cage for warmth, with snuggly material to make her comfortable Has she eaten? she may need a boost of food via crop needle if she's not strong enough to eat? Thanks Libby, I have never used a crop needle... She picks at seeds though...:hap: She is 14 years old and poor old girl has been hanging on for so long. every time i think "this is the end for her" she does what she has just done again - She has perked up again now. She enjoyed her warm cuddle and now she wants to be back in the cage with the others....
February 29, 200817 yr Good news Liv, glad to hear she's feeling better... I know what you mean about thinking they're always on their last legs... i have a 10+ yr old bunny :S i always presume he's on his last legs..... worries me sick, but i'm coming to terms with the fact i'll be losing him soon... unfortunatly
February 29, 200817 yr Wow, she sure has lived a wonderful life and is determined to hang on, you are doing all you can do. Give her the treats that she likes. ?millet?
February 29, 200817 yr Good luck with her. Put her in a little cage inside if she needs it. Bless her, she's had a great life, and she'll know when her time is up. Then she'll let go. Until then, she'll keep bouncing back.
February 29, 200817 yr Author Thanks for your support guys. Whitie passed away this afternoon while i nipped out to the shops. She must have wanted to be alone, and I thought it was unusual that her Toy Boy was leaving her a lone this morning, as he never normally leaves her side. She was peaceful and remained free from illness (no runny poops etc.) - it was just her old body that couldn't keep up any more. I find comfort in knowing that she is a peace now and she has gone before the cold weather has come . Whitie
February 29, 200817 yr i am so sorry to hear about Whitie but it was good that she die peaceful and live such a long time.
March 1, 200817 yr Awww Liv ... so sad to hear about Whitey. You have had extraordinary luck having her as long as you did. She certainly had a great time with her young toy boy ... she was the BELLE of the BALL ! Think happy thoughts of her while you had her snuggled in your top ... especially since she perked up after that. She felt your love & strength that showed her it was time. Maybe it was her way of saying "Thanks MOM ... I just needed your special love before I go. Now it's okay for me to fly ! " Nick
