:hap: I have a chick who is 5-6 weeks old and still with its parents and I was wondering,

 

* When will I be able to tell its sex and

* What age can I mate it...

You have to wait until the budgie is 12 months old to breed with it.

The chick can be removed from its parents once it can crack seed and feed on its own.

If there is a nesting box still in the cage with the parents you cannot have the youngster in there as it grows older or it will want to mate with either of its parents ( depending on boy or girl ) and you will have all kinds of trouble.

How big is your cage ? Can you post some pictures ?
