A question about quarantine... how would you quarantine these birds? do both birds get quarantined for a 30 day period before going into the breeding cage? Normally you wouldn't have to quarantine because they are both living in the same aviary right? In this case both birds were quarantined and were under treatments for everything at seperate homes in readiness for breeding. Feathers and I have two others about to go together. She is quarantining him just as I am quarantining my bird in readiness. They are treated for EVERYTHING while waiting to be paired up....for cocci, psittacosis, worms, parasites etc. Edited March 23, 200817 yr by KAZ

March 23, 200817 yr nick nack you are a crack up man. I had a Krispy Kreme for you today... Gee's JimmyB ... you're killing me man ! I WANT ONE OF THEM KK's SO BAD ! I was thinking I just might get in the car & go get me some. But then I'd have to spend at least $8.00 worth of gas to get to where the factory drive thru is. Stand in the drive thru lane about 2 or more hours in the car, with the motor running to keep warm cause it's so dang cold here EVEN THOUGH IT'S OFFICIALLY SPRING ! And then I'd waste another $8.00 worth of gas to trudge back to the city hoping I don't fall asleep on the way home from pigging out on some stooopid donuts that are suppose to be better then SEX ! Somehow ..... It just doesn't add up. I will stay home & hope that dang Bunny has a heart of gold & brings me some KK's instead of his regular chocolate wabbit or some stinky colored hard boiled eggs.

My aviary birds looked on jealously when the breeding cages got budgie starter with vegies, so I did a heap of vegies for the aviary birds afternoon tea. Graye (YF boy) was sitting on the bowl before I even had a chance to put any into feeding dishes! I think he knows that he needs to be building strength for a visit to Aunty Kaz's aviary! Feathers.

April 10, 200817 yr At dusk, I saw George in the nestbox with Amira. He never gets in the nestbox. I wonder if a chick has arrived. Will look in the morning It was too dark to disturb them tonight.
