Posted February 26, 200817 yr hi iam thinking about breeding the budgies in february and i dont know if i should wait until the summer or now?? please help me!! Toffeefluff
February 26, 200817 yr Where would you be breeding and what is your weather or heating/airconditioning like ? Hard for some of us to say who may be in Australia and can breed outside.
February 26, 200817 yr Hmmm You are in the UK so I'm not sure about your weather conditions. If your birds are inside and its warm enough it will be fine. if they are outside and If the days are too short, they may not be 'in the mood' hehehe. I hope the others can give you some more detailed info than i can hehehe.
February 26, 200817 yr Humidity is a factor you have to consider when breeding, I don't know about your weather but here where I am we have the snow falling and the humidity is a huge factor in our colder weather. So for me if I were to breed I would need a good heating system, a humidfer and a humidfer indicator to ensure that I had the correct amount of humidity.
February 27, 200817 yr As already stated, it depends on the environmental conditions of your breeding area. In general you can breed all year round with the right artificial conditions. My suggestion is aprox 12 hours of daylight/lighting, humidity levels should be considered, plenty of food & veggies, a nestbox (of course), and temperatures that aren't too hot or too cold.
